Growing Up Fast

Last week Larry brought home a cute outfit he saw for Ben. And then to complete the look I found some great sandals for the summer. After decking him all out, I couldn't believe my eyes. He looks so old. It's like as soon as I stopped putting him in onesie's and put "big boy" clothes on him...he sprouted a few inches and grew a few years older. See for yourself!

I promise he's only 14 months old!

He really loves to carry, throw and bounce balls around.

And The Color For 2008 Is...GREEN!

To keep with our Family Tradition I insisted on dressing us all up in the same colors for Easter Sunday. The kids will probably joke, tease, and generally be disgusted by it all when they are teenagers...but until then I'll enjoy the happy attitude to do what mom says! 2 years ago the color was yellow, last year it was Blue....gosh last year, well Ben was 3 months, Larry was still in Law School. That seems like ages. And now here we are, in a home, with a steady job and prego. Well, I guess some thing never change. At least we are consistent. It's 2008 and time to go GREEN! Happy Easter!

Did The Bunny Come?

Once again we find ourselves boiling bazillions of eggs, raking out the rarely used vinegar (oops, don't add it to the purple and pink) and praying that no one spills the little cups of dye. And of course Larry spends most of his time creating and enjoying himself, while I find myself working out all the details and never sitting down. Relax is not in my vocabulary (well, not unless all the kids are in bed and the dishes are done). The girls were mighty proud of their girly touch of glitter on their eggs!

The Hunt Is On

To kick off the Easter festivities we joined our fellow neighbors for an egg hunt. We were looking forward to meeting new people and seeing some of the ward members. The kids...well...they were just excited to grab the eggs. But before we left we made sure we laid out the game plan to the kids! The best way to not get trampled and get the MOST eggs, is to run all the way to the end by mommy and by-pass all the "first eggs". It always works great, and I get much better pictures!

From Rainy Day to Snow Day

Living in Dallas has proved to be full of the most random weather EVER. Our temps change dramatically all the time. It seems that we are just positioned south enough to pull humidity and gulf coast rains BUT also north enough to grab the tail of the northern winter storms. This constant change is killing the girls who are always VERY excited to find a day that they can wear their DRESSES. A few days ago we found ourselves stuck indoors because of a cold, down pouring rain. To try my hand at being more than a lump on the couch I brought out the cookie mix and the stools. Together we created gingerbread cookies.

Then the rain stopped. Thankfully! Instead we woke up to SNOW. I couldn't help myself. I woke up the kids and threw them into warm clothes and shoved them outside. Because we all know it wasn't going to be around long! This is after all....Texas.

I really can't help myself. I absolutely LOVE photography. And it doesn't even have to be my own kids. Or even people at all. I love finding plants or landscapes that are glimpse into God's creations. I had another photo shoot in the backyard and can't wait to show the results. Here are a few of my favorites....this might take awhile!

Aunt Mimmi

Sooo many of my friends have never met my older sister, Kim. In many ways we are similar, yet different. I'd say we look a lot alike, but considering she's got blond hair, green eyes, 3 inches shorter, left handed...need I say more. However if you put us on the phone you would be hard pressed to tell the difference. I think we have even faked out each others spouses before. Sorry, boys! It has been great to have "Aunt Mimmi" (named after her absolute favorite nickname "kimmi") and my mom all to myself. I'm a little spoiled like that....I love being the youngest. =) Here are some great pic's of Kim playing games with the Kid-o's outside. Oh and just to make things interesting here's a few things about her that most people don't know:

#1. She's been out of high school for 16 years and still has her cheerleading uniforms and stool.

#2. If she could wear track pants everyday without being frowned upon, she would totally do it.
#3. She will sweat it out at 82 degrees in her house all summer long just to save $$.

#4. She never takes out her contacts. And if she does, it's only becase it's been 6 months and they are beginning to hurt.

#5. She loves words like "Jinormous", even though it's not even in the dictionary.
