Last Day of School 2012

These 2 goofy girls
came home from school
so jazzed that school was out
and it was time to start their SUMMER!

Their outfits are perfect for their
personalities.
Although they love sports,
they love dresses more!

And there's nothing better then wearing
matching clothes with your sister
and your favorite colors!

And now what is on the agenda for the summer?
Swimming!
And lots of it!!

Lewis Elementary Awards Ceremony

It's the last days of school!
Emma has completed the 1st grade
and Sydney is done with 3rd grade.
The younger kids and I came to the
girls school and watched them
receive their certificates for the year.

Emma and Ms. Long
Emma loved how her teacher did
lots of crafts and different centers
that the other 1st grade classes
didn't get to do.

Emma participated in a multiple question
competition for the 3rd grade!

Emma is a reading master!
She read Amber Brown, Clifford, Biscuit,
Arthur and Junie B. Jones.

She finished her reading goals
for the year by December!

Completion of 1st grade

Emma was a straight A student.

Emma also can read super big words
for her age and passed her reading tests
with flying colors!

Sydney's 3rd grade teacher
Ms. Simmons
Sydney loved having stations around the classroom
in 3rd grade.

This might seem like a simple award
but it truly means that Sydney is
exceptional at being a very obedient student.
So far all of her teachers have raved about
how much they love having her be an
example to the other students in
her class.

Sydney has a love of learning
how things work.

Sydney read tons and tons of American Girl
and Magic Tree House books.

Sydney was also apart of the GT
(GATE program).
Each semester they completed a different project.
Fall semester was a Pet Parade
and Spring semester was Giving Gifts.

Sydney also participated in the multiple question
game for the 3rd grade!

Face Lift

It took our insurance man
5 seconds on our roof to see
just how much damage the hail
did to it a few weeks back
when that awful tornado showed up.

Thankfully we have a friend at church
that owns a roofing company
which made it easy to trust their
opinions and suggestions
with the new roof.

Considering how loud the re-roofing process
had been on all the other neighbor's homes,
I was dreading it being done on our own.
But I was surprised to find that by staying
downstairs the hammer was bearable.

The empty trailer in front to catch
the old shingles and a tarp in the backyard.

The kids loved watching the men on the roof
of our home working.
Although I do not envy them for having to
spend their day up so HIGH!!

One Last Kick

Skittles did so well in soccer this season with
her new team the Hurricanes.
It was her first time playing offense
instead of defense.
She was very excited to try something
new!

Go Hurricanes!

All pumped up and ready to play,
Sydney bolts it out on to the field
with her shiny yellow shoes!

She's ready to take off
at kick off!

Getting set up to trap the ball.

Sydney has a great power kick,
and perfect form as she boots
the ball for a goal kick.

Sydney sticks like glue to the other team
when she plays defense.

Another goal kick!!

Mom spent the first couple practices
with Sydney and Emma,
teaching them the "drag the toe" technic
when throwing in the ball.
I was so proud to see Sydney utilize
my advice.

After she released the ball for the throw
in with her toe still dragging behind her.
She is sooo smart!!

Water break

Gotta match the purple cup with her
purple uniform.

Even when other teams are taller
then Sydney she still doesn't hesitate
to go after them!

Hooray for the Hurricanes!!

Last Game Of The Spring Season

What a season it has been for the Heart-attacks!
These girls have really stepped it up this year.
They have finally learned and perfected
some major skills.
We are especially proud of our Emma.
She is friends with all the girls,
the fastest on the team,
and makes the most goals.

Larry and Chad instructing the girls
with last minute words of wisdom before the
game begins.

Emma is Coach Larry's biggest fan!!!

Her long legs are so beautiful in
a full stride!!

Power kick!

Emma got to kick
for a penalty.
Look at the girls on the other team.
Backing it up!
Scared of Emma's skills!

BAM!!!

You are amazing soccer player Emma Jean!

We Love You, Mom!

To simply state.
I am spoiled by my kids.
(aka: by Larry)
He worked so hard all day to make my
day wonderful.
He even took my "order" for what I wanted
for all my meals on Mother's Day.
We had waffles, bacon and oranges for breakfast
with a side of presents!
The "kids" got me #5 book in a series that I love to read.
And also a new MP3 player, since the kids
keep stealing mine .
(and I highly doubt the kids need to hear
the songs I choose to work out to)

So I spent the whole morning reading my new book
and thoroughly ignoring the kids as much
as possible.
Which resulted in none of the girls having a proper
hair-do for church,
but heck....it's my day and I decided it didn't matter!

The previous day we walked around the grocery store
picking up the fixin's for my dinner
of shiskabob's with steak, pineapples, shrimp,
bell peppers, etc ceaser salad, orange rolls and
peach cobbler with ice cream for dessert!
While I pushed through one particular aisle of the
store I came across a husband speaking to his wife.
It went like this...

husband:  while gesturing like vanna white,
"pick what ever you want to eat for mother's day!"
wife:  frowns and then sighs.

They were standing in front of boxes of Hamburger Helper.
I was mortified for her.
I promptly found Larry and hugged him.
Thankful that I had the best husband EVER!

Why am I the only one looking at the camera?
And I love how Keira can't stand the smell
of the new wood chips that is around the plants
and is insistent on plugging her nose.

Apparently Ben doesn't like to open his eyes when
the sun is out just like his Daddy,
Dan was NOT wanting to sit still
and what is up with that dang stupid curl in my hair
that keeps coming forward?

So this is the best of the whole lot.
Even with the popeye squints,
they are still my Fabulous Five!!
Gotta love 'em!!

We also made a extra special present
for the primary kids to give to their mom's.
The funny part was this coloring page
that our secretary stumbled upon for kids
to color for their moms!

Classic!!

Coach Larry- Jaguar's U5 Boys

Although soccer wasn't a sport Larry
has played in a really long time...
Like 28 years!
He has more then willing to coach his
kids teams.

He even wanted to coach all 3 kids,
but I had to step in and say no,
just because it's hard to find
a schedule where he can have
that much time in the evenings to coach.

Larry is so patient with the kids.
He isn't demanding, but firm.
He likes to keep the kids happy and
showers them with compliments.

At every Half-Time,
he makes all the kids answer the same question...
WHICH WAY ARE WE GOING?

And all the kids scream,
"That way!"
and point to the correct goal.

Even with many different personalities
and skills,
Larry always makes sure the boys
have fun, play fair but hard!!

He's a fantastic coach
and the kids are lucky
to have him!
