Homemade Halloween

Here are a few things I have
"crafted" for the holiday!

Trying to use more old costumes
to add decorations around
the house!

I think all that is left are some pumpkins,
and the porch will be complete!

New Name

Ben:  "What is my full name?"

Mom:  "Benjamin Lee Roberts."

Ben:  "How do you spell it?"

(mom writes it out on paper)

Ben:  "There is a J in my name?"

Mom:  "Yep!"

Ben:  "I don't want my last name
to be Roberts,
I want it to be Hot Dog."

Mom:  "Sounds good to me.
But you'll have to find another
family to live with that has
the last name Hot Dog!"

Sysy's Soccer

This is Sydney's 2nd season
with the SHAMROCKS!
Each year they add on more
rules as they grow older
until they are playing with the
full set of soccer rules.
This year they got moved to a
larger field, more girls on the field
and "off-sides".

This sign was a labor of love for me,
but it worked out!

Getting checked out before
the game by the 3 ref's.

Coach Gabe reminds the girls
what it means to
"go up the line".

Coach Ashley plays defense
while Sydney warms up
taking a kick on the goal.

Gathering around the coaches
for last minute words of wisdom.

Look at that full stride!

On the field she is known as "Sysy"
because there are 2 Sydney's.

She plays defense,
and is really good.

She is never afraid.
Goes after any girl that has a ball near
her goal.

Remembering to mark up
on a player on the opposing team.

Putting on the speed
to catch those fast brakes!

She has really started to get in touch
with some "intensity" and "aggressiveness".

Mainly I like this picture because
you can see me in the background.
The younger kids are playing a pick up
game of soccer on an empty field
and dan is in the port-a-crib behind
the "shamrock" sign to stay out of the sun.

Sydney has truly become an asset to her team.

And her soccer smarts on how to play
the game have grown.

She says her job is just to...
"keep that ball out of her area".

Challenging every player that has the ball.

After the game her coach came up to her
and gave her the biggest hug.
Gushing over how improved she is,
her skills and telling her that for this game
she was the MVP!!

Stud Muffin

disclaimer:
we do not neglect our kids.
well maybe only a little.
when it comes to things like
running along side of them on a bike,
we've left it up to themselves to learn.
with me being prego / nursing constantly
and larry's knee in desperate need of
surgery, there wasn't anyone
able to teach them.

Hence...(drum roll please)
Sydney shows off her bike riding skills!!

Supplies needed:
Helmet, bike and a dress.

Can't forget the need for
"focus"
when it comes to bike riding.

And she's off!

TA-DA!!

All smiles!!
We are so proud of her.
And now to buy her a bike
her size.

THE END

My Gift

 Ever since we originally painted
this room for Keira before she was
born, I meant to paint
some stripes on the walls
to help "lighten" it up.

So finally as my present to her
I finished it...
by her 3rd birthday!

I think I have finally perfected the
art of painting stripes
without the horror
of the paint seeping under
the tape.

And yes,
the little princess has
the largest bed in the house.
But she has the smallest room
and gets kicked out of it
whenever people come
to visit.

To repeat what Keira says
every night when she lays in bed,
"My K!"

Little Miss Turns 3

This big gift needed
lots of strong arms to carry it
and creative wrapping
to cover it.

The best part was that the kids
randomly started humming
the theme song to Star Wars
while they delivered the present!!
It was hysterical!!

And no, her gift is not the
"Star Command"!

Opening her card!

Surprise!
It's a Polly Pocket
Rockstar House.

She was in heaven!!

Her older sisters were very jealous.

Time for a Birthday Party!

Keira has amazed us with
her skills of learning her
alphabet and numbers these past 4 months.
She can recognize every letter, upper &
lower case, say their sounds and all her numbers.
Even before she was 3 yrs old.
So adding her favorite letter "K"
to her cupcake was very appropriate.

Singing the birthday
song with friends.

A big breath to blow them out.

The best surprise of all was her
gift from Grandma and Grandpa.

A Minnie Mouse card.

And a.....??

PILLOW PET!!

A rainbow unicorn.

HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY
KEIRA JANE!!
