The Girly Girl

Somebody really really really
likes SHOES!

Especially any shoe that isn't hers.

Thankfully Ben isn't "put-out"
that Keira constantly steals his shoes
but instead is rather proud that she
always picks at least 1 of his crocks.

Let Me Explain

Today I delicately, gently, lovingly but directly tried to explain to my young, energetic children why mommy can not go to the pool everyday or even every other day for that matter.  Why we'll probably be home a lot more until baby Daniel comes.  That mommy is tired, sore, swollen, hot and that all my energy is being sucked up by making the baby healthy.  I even tried to remind them that Daddy and many people will be here visiting and entertaining them after the baby comes.  With still frowns on their faces of disappointment and rejection at another request to go swimming we made this...

Today we removed "19".  On our COUNTDOWN TO BABY DANIEL.

Thankfully a primary activity for church and the 4th of July will be joyous distractions to get them through!

Stinky But Fun

Look at all these
ANIMALS
we found at Owen's Farm!

This beautiful horse was CRAZY tall.

Sydney was the only kid daring enough to hold
the cups full of grains for the goats.
But I have to agree the goats were pretty
aggressive when it came to free food!

Every girls dream...
a pretty pony of her own!

Cock-a-doodle-doo!

These 2  were fascinated that the chickens
and roosters would "talk" back to them.

Time for a hay ride!

Thank heavens there was a breeze
and some cloud cover because
with humidity and 93 degree temps
OR
we would have melted out there!

Bump, bump, bump!

We really enjoyed all the donkeys,
goats, chickens, bulls, horses, ducks,
hay maze, hay ride and
the farm house set up just like years ago!

Thanks for the invite Kern Family!!

Happy Father's Day

We love to show daddy
just how much we love him!

We are very lucky to have such
a hardworking, fun-loving
guy like him.

So we brought him breakfast in bed
with biscuits & egg butter
and a bowl of fresh strawberries.

We gave him a brand new set of scriptures,
a little photo album of the kids
to "show off" at work
and Sydney had a few special treats
she picked up at school.

Loves & Hugs for #1 Dad!

Here is Sydney's school
survey about her Dad:

"My dad is special because he is fun.
I like it when my dad plays tickle monster.
I like to make my dad smile by tickling him.
My dad's favorite thing to do is have fun.
My dad is smart!  He even knows how to tickle good."

And can't forget to give a shout out
to the delicious dinner we had.
Porterhouse steaks, baked potatoes,
salad and crescent rolls!
YUM!

Masterpiece Theater

Scholastic Videos...you are my lifesaver.

Thank you for making my life easier.  Good books on video.

And now my kids are quiet.  A rare thing during the summer days!

Smile.

This purchase had me smiling the whole
way home.

Beaming like a proud parent.

Now just remember,
all of these products are high end
and usually $5 each.

Oh and let's not forget the 2 butterfingers
not pictured due to offering them as a thanks
for the girl who played with my kids
so I could go somewhere...
ALONE!!

Total cost?
$8

LOVE IT!!

Let Your Light So Shine

Larry helped our home enter the 20th century
buy throwing out the fluorescent, buzzing,
ancient kitchen light
and putting up this little gem!

Who knew a home built in 2005 still
offered that hideous light fixture as
the base option.
EW!
So glad to be rid of it!

Looking For Me?

If you can't find Keira Jane,
she's probably outside lounging in
her very own grassy tub of fun.

Double the slides...
double the FUN!

I just love her dimples,
floppy brown hair
and big blue eyes.

She's truly become a splash addict.

Thankfully she's past her trepidation
about pools in general and
is now enjoying her freedom.

The other kids are always complaining
that Keira makes the pool really dirty
by putting all the outside toys in the pool.

Personally, I think it's just her way of
kicking them all out!!

Moving On To Days

That's right.  No more counting in weeks.  Only days.

34 more days left.

And at this rate I'm going to need a wheelchair to get me there.  Lately my left leg/butt muscle/sciatic nerve have begun to flare up.  And when I say "flare up", I mean burn, sharp pains, stop dead in your tracks, squeal in agony, can't speak until it goes away kind of pain.  It used to show up at the end of a long day and I could bare through it to finish those motherly duties.

However, now I wake up with this wonderful jolt of lightening.  There's nothing better then to literally ROLL out of bed awkwardly to stand and feel your blood rushing down your legs, your head swim with stars and then a cramp in your muscle that feels like you've been kicked with a steel toe boot.

But the best part are the Braxton Hicks that have jumped from 10 a day to 10 an hour.  My mom especially has become an advocate at putting my feet up and doing nothing until her flight arrives the day before the baby is due.  We'll see if we can grant her wish.

Just 4 U Mom

To help my mom visualize the
"GREATEST DEAL ON A RUG"...

Like when you find $150 rug for $40.

And it's oh so comfy.
So soft, that your kids keep
moving the coffee table so
they can lay on it!

And oh so perfect that it matches
all the other swirly designs
going on in the house.

Can't you just picture
the perfection?

Say Goodbye To First Grade

Sydney's class celebrated their
last day of 1st grade by
having a carnival!

With games galore,
plenty of prizes
and some serious snacks!

Thankfully a bag of popcorn
entertained these crazies
for a while.

Blow away!

Thanks Mrs. Bryant for a great
year!

www.kidsbowlfree.com

Thanks to that little website,
our family will be enjoying this
air conditioned activity for
most of the summer!!

All free except for the cost of shoes.
Completely worth it!
Just ask them!

Tic-tac-toe,
Three in a row.
(gotta love Ben's choice of Christmas socks)

At first Daddy spent most of his time
bent over each kid teaching them
his bowling skills.

And of course,
Keira is obsessed with being
held by her favorite parent.

Since Momma doesn't do
any carrying any more,
Daddy has to take up the slack!

After a few frames Keira became
more comfortable with the
bowling thing and
even started to celebrate!

Come on Ben!!

Emma watches her
latest throw.

And then...
offers mom a quick pose.

Sydney sends one rollin'
down the lane.

Until we got smart and
borrowed this "back" saving
contraption!

Then we REALLY started
having fun!!

It is such a joy to watch
your kids celebrate their
successes!

Best action shot of the night!

Daddy bowled a game too!
