dAnCInG In thE RAin

We love where we live!
And we love the large pool,
the covered bbq's with picnic tables,
bathrooms, mini covered park and spray park.
All right down the street!

And nothing beats a spray park
especially for little kids
that get bored of the pool.

This is where Keira and Dan hang out.

Captain Dan steering his ship!

Time for a shower!

Oh and don't knock the "laker" colored
floatie.
It may look funny but it works
so much better then arm floaties and
gives Dan the freedom to wander the
pool!

This summer we have accomplished
many FIRSTs at the pool!

It's the 1st year I haven't had to be on
major RED ALERT because 3 kids can swim
and the other 2 keep their floaties on,
Keira finally conquered her fear of water
by jumping in the pool and getting her face
wet all by herself!

Keira is a little apprehensive about
jumping in without mommy there
to catch her.

But she won't give up!

Ben, Sydney and Emma
try to show Keira how fun in
can be to jump in the pool!

I can't believe how old Ben looks here.
This is his last summer before he
starts Kindergarten!

I love catching in the air shots of
these silly kids!!

1, 2, 3 JUMP

WOW she looks like she's really
high up in the air!

I don't know how we have a 7
year old daughter with muscle
definition...but we do!?!?!

Keira convinces her sisters to catch her!

Time for a group cannon ball!!

These 2 boys are so cute together.
If only I could play a video montage
of them running in slow motion
with some "chariots of fire"!

They really crack me up when
they play together!!

I promise.
We really do feed Ben food!

Time for an all Girl jump!

Keira still isn't convinced it is such a great idea.

Conclusion?
Jumping into the pool
is wicked awesome fun!

This summer we find ourselves enjoying
the pool at least 4 times a week.
Which means I only have to give
the kids baths about twice a week!
(kidding!)
This makes the long summer days
just a little shorter,
makes our skin smell like sunscreen
constantly
and our laundry room full
of towels drying.

This is a photo explosion
of the kids playing in the water!
Emma spends most of her time
playing 3 flies up with the mini footballs,
doing crazy dives or imagining she
is a mermaid with her friends.

Ben enjoys diving for rings,  cannonballs,
mini football catch and imaging he is anything
from Harry Potter to super heroes with his friends.

Check out Sydney the shark under Dan.
She didn't mean to, but right after this
she accidentally flipped him over.
She only wanted to lift him up a little.
OOPS!

This is Dan after getting drowned by
Sydney the shark.
He wasn't very happy!

We are so lucky to have such great kids.
They love to play with each other
(most of the time)
Especially these 2 older sisters who
are constantly taking care of their
younger siblings.

Keira spends most of her time diving for sticks
on the stairs, playing tea party with cups and jumping
into the pool all by herself!

Can't find Dan?  He is either floating all over the pool
by himself, hanging from this pole like a monkey,
convincing anyone to catch him so he can
jump into the pool, or in the mini playground under
the shade in the pool area!

Emma to the rescue!

Sydney enjoys playing 3 flies up with the mini football,
rescuing her young siblings from dangerous situations,
crazy dives into the pool, catching jumping Dan
and playing with her friends!

Larry's 9th Father's Day

Early one special morning....
These special kids dug out their homemade
cards and pictures.
Took out a LARGE jar filled
with PB m&m's from it's hiding place.
And cooked up a healthy breakfast.
Then very carefully walked it upstairs
and sang HAPPY FATHER's Day to Larry!

The card to the m&m's said...
"To our slightly nutty, but sweet DAD!"

Nothing beats breakfast in
bed!

The kids love showing off their
masterpieces!

To the most selfless, honest, caring,
lovable Dad!

Mom's Lesson

I wish I remembered what this lesson was about.
But I can't.
I wish I could tell you that all the kids were perfect
angels and patiently sat through
the whole 5 min lesson reverently.
But I can't.

In reality, the kids were pretty attentive,
answered our questions,
and hopefully learned something.

Larry just wanted to capture the moment.

Just so we could remember times like
these when the kids are young.

Proof, that YES we have Family Home Evening
every monday night!

No matter how crazy raising 5 young kids
can be.
