And after 1 wash and no "pre-treatment" application
the stains were gone.
Plus these stains were NOT fresh.
They were at least a few days old.
So the "SURVEY SAYS"...
this home-made laundry soap ROCKS!
The crazy part is that even though the Fels-naptha
bar had a scent to it when it was boiled,
the clothes had NO scent after being washed.
Which is great. No scent means clean.
Although I know many of us love that fresh smell.
So you might want to use some drops of **essential oils**
like the recipe suggests.

I don't know if you have ever looked at my food storage blog . . but I have totally ripped this off for it. I plan to get the stuff today when I am running around and making some of the powdered. do you know how it works (dissolves)? when I was in jr high, we were in pretty bad shape financially and some friends gave us some homemade soap that I had to grate to wash clothes. It seemed to work, my mom had very white whites, and there was no budging on that one!!
By the say, washing soda is just baking soda. We get the big bag for pretty cheap at Costco, put a little in the kitchen, change the fridge box and put the rest in the laundry. If you live in a hard water area, which you don't, it helps condition the water and gets clothes cleaner!
You should write a book, Rachel. I think it will be a bestseller.
